About me

My name is Marcus Pihlaja and I am 30 years old. As a person, I am happy and caring. I value accuracy and hard work and am always ready to take on new challenges and learn new things. This is reflected in my way of working where I always strive to deliver high quality and to collaborate effectively with colleagues, customers and users. This makes me a flexible and reliable member of the team. In my spare time I hang out with friends and family, watch ice hockey, play on the computer and Playstation 5, go out for walks and exercise.

I have a burning interest in computers, IT and technology, which I have had since I was a child. This interest has led me to a career in IT, where I have worked in various support roles (first line, second line and onsite) for five years. Currently, I work as an IT-technician at Söderenergi AB in Södertälje. You can read more about my work experience in my CV, which can be downloaded further down on this page.

Education

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Architecture, with a specialization in Frontend Web Development. The degree was completed remotely as part of the Web Editor Programme at the University of Borås. The education, which lasted from August 2021 to June 2024, was very broad. During the education I acquired skills in web development, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React.js, Episerver and WordPress. I have also immersed myself in UX/UI design, information architecture, SEO, interaction design, content management, and graphic design. In addition, I have gained knowledge of modeling (UML), information law, accessibility according to WCAG and agile work. Through several projects during the education, I have gained experience of the entire design process – from sketching, creating personas, graphic profiles, moodboards and wireframes to developing prototypes in Figma and conducting user tests. I have also learned how to develop the website or web application.

My education in UX-design, information architecture and frontend web development has given me a solid foundation in understanding user experience and how to best communicate and present information on a website.
